We recently faced an issue because we didn’t have Whois Guard, or whoisguard. Following story is what actually happened with us. Well, because we were aware of the scam we successfully mitigated the risk but what about you, how would you. But before all that, Let’s brush ourself with what is whois and whois guard. Right?
What is WhoisGuard?
Before whois guard, what is whois? Some of you may know, so let’s revisit what it is, Whois is simply in layman’s language is keeper of data related to registered users of an internet resource, such as domain name, an IP address block or an autonomous system. Whois search retrieves this data in human-readable format. Thus by performing Whois search one can know every detail that you put while buying any internet resource.
Now what’s the role of whoisguard?
Whois guard, masks your identity in public to prevent identity theft or any potential spam. Thus, whenever anyone do a whois search on your internet resource, they won’t get your details.
If you don't get yourself Whoisguard, this can happen to you.
Scammers retrieved our email ID from Whois search, and pitched us following deal in following, get yourself aware of the pattern to be safe.
